This has to be my favorite salad of all time. The flavors in this salad are robust and they flow perfectly with ham. Strawberries, toasted pecans, and goat cheese. Yes, please! I have ordered salad in so many versions in many different restaurants and it never disappoints. I recommend making this and placing all the ingredients in separate containers until ready to assemble then just toss them together. The salad dressing can easily be made a few days in advance and would probably taste even better when given a chance to meld together. So when your sister asks you how she can help this is a great way to put her to work! Just have her throw all the ingredients into a bowl and toss!

In Greek culture, this soup is a part of the breaking of the fasting that happens as the clock strikes midnight the night before Easter. It is a symbol of the resurrection of Christ. Many people return home from church breaking their fast with a meal as a family where is this often served. There is a lot of history in this dish and the soup is said to have been served for 1,000 years now. This recipe could easily serve as a starter and be served from a crockpot to keep it simmering and warm but out of the way.

It also makes it easy to transport if you are making it for a work event. There is a reason that these name-brand hams are so expensive and that they are a crowd-pleaser. They are delicious and can be paired with many things. Be sure to buy a ham with a bone in it so once the ham is trimmed away you can use the bone in a different recipe, like a bean soup.

Apple pie is an American tradition. I serve it all summer and winter. I cannot think of one family gathering where apple pie is unwelcome. This recipe is no different. I love this recipe but it does take some time to prepare it the good news is that you can freeze it ahead of time so you won’t need to rush through this. It can be frozen and just popped in the oven while everyone is enjoying dinner. It will be ready in a jiffy and completely worth all the effort it took to prep it. Just don’t forget the ice cream!

For some reason I associate Easter with Carrot Cake. It might be the Easter Bunny but these little gems are full of cream cheese goodness. The best part is they last 3 days in the refrigerator! Its two of my favorite things in one dessert. Cheesecake and carrot cake came together and had a baby and they birthed this beautiful dessert of Carrot Cake Bars! These are so good you are not going to want to share them. I am going to do my best to keep my family hands off of them for the three days leading up to Easter but I cannot make any promises.
