Recipes with very few ingredients are so much better. It means there’s less to buy, less to store in your house, and they are so much faster to prepare.

With that in mind, I wanted to share some 4 ingredient chicken recipes!

We’ll call it minimalist cooking. Because who really wants to spend half their life stirring a pot on the stove?

All of these chicken recipes contain only four ingredients. Many can even be made in the slow cooker for a truly ‘hands off’ approach.

Crock Pot 4 Ingredient Chicken Recipes

Using my slow cooker is the absolute easiest way I’ve found to make cooking dinner effortless.

Each of these easy chicken dinner recipes are perfect families of all sizes. They’re super quick – just toss the ingredients into your Crock Pot!

It does the cooking for you!

Quick Crock Pot tip: For easy cleanup after dinner, spray your slow cooker to prevent sticking. I also love these slow cooker liners. You just toss them out when you’re done!

1. Slow Cooker Chicken & Dumplings

In your Crock Pot, combine:

  • 4 skinless, boneless chicken breasts
  • 2 cans of condensed cream of chicken soup

After cooking 4-5 hours on High, shred chicken and add:

  • Bag of frozen mixed veggies (carrots and peas)
  • 1-2 Cans of refrigerated biscuits, torn into pieces

Cook for 30-60 minutes, until dough is cooked through.

2. Crock Pot White Chicken Chili

In your Crock Pot, combine:

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 6 cups chicken stock
  • 2 cups salsa verde

Cook for on Low for 6-8 hours (or High for 3-4)

In the last 30 minutes of cooking, add:

  • 2 cans Great Northern beans

3. Crock Pot Chicken Broccoli Alfredo

In the slow cooker, add:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 jars of alfredo sauce

Cook on High for 2.5 hours (or Low for 5 hours), then add:

  • Bag of frozen broccoli florets
  • Sprinkle of shredded parmesan cheese

4. Slow Cooker Salsa Chicken:

In your Crock Pot, combine:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Jar of salsa
  • Small bag of frozen corn
  • Can of black beans

Cook on Low for 4-6 hours

5. Easy Italian Slow Cooker Creamy Chicken

In your Crock Pot, combine:

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 8 oz block cream cheese
  • Can of condensed cream of chicken soup
  • Packet of dry Italian dressing mix

Cook on High for 3 hours (or Low for 6 hours)

Shred chicken, if desired, and serve over pasta or rice

6. Asian Sesame Crockpot Chicken

In your slow cooker, combine:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • ⅓ cup of apricot preserves
  • 1 cup of asian sesame salad dressing
  • 1 packet dry onion soup mix

Combine preserves, salad dressing, and soup mix, then pour over chicken breasts.

Cook on Low for 5-7 hours

7. Chicken Ranch Tacos in the Slow Cooker

In your Crockpot, combine:

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup of salsa
  • Packet of ranch dressing seasoning mix
  • 1 tbs. taco seasoning packet

Cook on High for 4 hours (or low for 8 hours)

Shred the chicken and serve with tortillas

8. Crock Pot Italian Chicken and Potatoes

In the slow cooker, add:

  • 3-4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 4 potatoes, cubed
  • ½ cup Italian dressing
  • 1 tsp dried Italian dressing seasoning packet

Cook on Low for 6-8 hours

9. Slow Cooker BBQ Pulled Chicken

In your Crockpot, combine:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Bottle of BBQ sauce
  • ½ cup Italian dressing
  • ¼ cup brown sugar

Cook on High for 4-5 hours, (or low for 6-8 hours)

Shred chicken and serve on buns or over rice

10. Slow Cooker Garlic Pesto Chicken

In your Crockpot, combine:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 jar pesto sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 cup chicken broth

Cook on Low for 4-6 hours

11. Crock Pot Hawaiian Chicken

In your Crockpot, combine:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup pineapple juice
  • ⅓ cup soy sauce (low sodium if you prefer)
  • ½ cup brown sugar

Cook on Low for 6-8 hours (of on High for 3-4 hours)

Shred chicken and serve on sandwiches or over rice

12. Crock Pot Chicken and Stuffing

In the slow cooker, add:

  • 3-4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 boxes Stove-Top stuffing (dry)
  • 2 cans chicken broth
  • 2 cans condensed cream of chicken soup

Quick tip: Combine broth and soup together before pouring over chicken and stuffing mix for best results.

Cook on Low for 7 hours (or on High for 4 hours)

13. Slow Cooker Fiesta Chicken

In your Crockpot, combine:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Can of red enchilada sauce
  • 1 cup salsa verde

Cook on High for 4-5 hours (or Low for 6-8 hours), shred chicken, and add ½ cup sour cream

Cook for another 20 minutes

Serve on buns like sandwiches, or on tortillas like tacos

14. Slow Cooker Honey Mustard Pulled Chicken Sandwiches

In your Crockpot, combine:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • ½ cup honey
  • ¼ cup Dijon mustard
  • ½ cup brown sugar

Cook on Low for 4-5 hours

Quick tip: Add 3 tbs of water to thin out sauce a bit, if desired.

4 Ingredient Chicken Bake Recipes

These quick and easy chicken bake and casserole recipes are all made with just a few ingredients.

Many use raw chicken breasts, but for the ones that call for precooked chicken, a store bought rotisserie chicken is such an easy solution.

Or you could cook up a bunch of chicken breasts in the slow cooker at the beginning of the week or month. Use a hand mixer to shred it super fast!

Another option is to buy frozen or fresh grilled chicken strips, or to use leftover chicken from another meal.

15. Cheesy Chicken Rice Casserole

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups cooked chicken
  • 2 cups instant rice
  • 2 cans condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (plus ½ cup for topping)

Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 350℉
  • Prepare instant rice according to package directions
  • Combine all ingredients in a bowl, then pour into casserole dish
  • Top with remaining ½ cup cheese
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes

16. Chicken Nachos

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups cooked and shredded chicken
  • 6 cups tortilla chips
  • Jar of black bean and corn salsa
  • 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese

Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 350℉
  • Spread chips along bottom of shallow baking dish
  • Top chips with chicken, salsa, and cheese
  • Bake for 10 minutes, or until cheese is melted

17. Chicken Pot Pie

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 cups cooked (shredded or cubed) chicken
  • Can of condensed cream of chicken soup
  • Bag of frozen mixed veggies (carrots, peas, and green beans)
  • Refrigerated pie crusts (pack of 2)

Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 350℉
  • Place one pie crust at the bottom of a greased pie dish
  • Combine all other ingredients and pour into dish
  • Place second pie crust over top
  • Bake for 30 minutes

18. Chicken Enchiladas

Ingredients:

  • 4-6 flour tortillas
  • 2 cups cooked and shredded chicken
  • 2.5 cups Mexican-style cheese
  • Can of condensed cream of chicken soup

Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 350℉
  • Mix together chicken and 2 cups of cheese
  • Fill each tortilla with mixture, then roll up and lay in 8×8 baking dish
  • Top tortillas with cream of chicken soup and remaining cheese
  • Bake for 30 minutes, then broil for 5 minutes until cheese is bubbly

19. Pretzel Crusted Honey Mustard Chicken

Ingredients:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup crushed pretzels
  • 4 tbs honey mustard
  • Garlic powder

Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 375℉
  • Place chicken between 2 pieces of plastic wrap and pound to 1 inch thickness
  • Remove plastic wrap and place chicken breast into greased baking dish, and sprinkle on garlic powder
  • Brush chicken with honey mustard, and top with crushed pretzels
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, until chicken is cooked through

20. Smothered Creamy Chicken and Bacon Bake

Ingredients:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 3 slices of bacon, chopped
  • 1 cup diced red bell pepper
  • 1 jar alfredo sauce

Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 350℉
  • In a nonstick skillet, cook bacon until crisp
  • Remove bacon onto paper towel to drain (leaving drippings)
  • In the same skillet, saute diced bell pepper for 1-2 minutes, and remove
  • Brown chicken breast in same skillet for 2-4 minutes, turning once
  • Place chicken breasts in baking dish
  • In seperate bowl, combine alfredo sauce, pesto, and bell pepper
  • Top chicken with Alfredo sauce and bell pepper then cover with foil
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes, then top with bacon and serve

21. Coca-Cola Chicken

Ingredients:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 can of co*ke
  • ½ cup ketchup
  • ¼ cup BBQ sauce

Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 375℉
  • Place chicken breasts in shallow baking dish
  • In a bowl, combine Coca-Cola, ketchup, and BBQ sauce
  • Top chicken with sauce mixture
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, until chicken is cooked through

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups cooked (shredded or cubed) chicken
  • 1 package Mexican-style rice mix
  • 2 tbs butter
  • 1 ¾ cup water
  • 1 can diced Rotel tomatoes with peppers

Directions:

  • In a large skillet, cook rice mix in butter for 5 minutes
  • Add tomatoes and water, and bring to a boil
  • Reduce heat and cook for 10 minutes
  • Add chicken and cook for 8-10 more minutes, until rice is cooked and liquid is absorbed

23. Ritz Cracker Chicken Bake

Ingredients:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 sleeve of Ritz crackers, crushed in large freezer bag or food processor
  • 6 tbs butter, melted
  • Garlic powder

Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 350℉
  • Dip chicken breasts in melted butter, then roll in crushed crackers
  • Place in baking dish, then sprinkle with garlic powder
  • Bake for 40-45 minutes, until chicken is cooked through

24. BBQ Chicken Pizza

Ingredients:

  • 1 store bought pizza crust
  • 1 cup cooked (shredded or cubed) chicken
  • ⅔ cup BBQ sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese

Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 350℉
  • Top pizza crust with BBQ sauce, chicken, and cheese
  • Bake for 10 minutes, until cheese is melted

Ingredients:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup caesar salad dressing
  • 1.5 cups parmesan cheese, divided
  • ½ cup sour cream

Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 375℉
  • Sprinkle both sides of chicken breasts with 1 cup parmesan cheese, and place in baking dish
  • In a separate bowl, combine dressing and sour cream
  • Top chicken with mixture, and rest of cheese
  • Bake for 30 minutes, or until cooked through

26. Easy Chicken & Rice Casserole

Ingredients:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup uncooked white rice
  • Can of condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 packet dry onion soup mix
  • 1.5 cups of water

Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 325℉
  • Add chicken breasts to baking dish
  • Top chicken with uncooked rice and onion soup mix
  • In a separate bowl, combine mushroom soup and water
  • Pour mixture over chicken
  • Bake for 75 minutes, or until rice is tender

27. Chicken Pasta Bake

Ingredients:

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, diced
  • 1 jar of marinara sauce
  • 1 box of penne or rigatoni pasta
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese

Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 350℉
  • Boil pasta according to package directions
  • While pasta cooks, saute diced chicken in cooking spray or 1 tbs oil
  • Drain pasta and combine with chicken and marinara sauce
  • Pour mixture into 13 x 9 baking dish, and top with cheese
  • Bake for 30 minutes

  • 1 cup salsa
  • 2 tbs taco seasoning

  • Sprinkle taco seasoning over both sides of chicken breasts
  • Place chicken in baking dish and pour salsa over top
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, until chicken is cooked through

29. Garlic, Bacon, & Brown Sugar Chicken

Ingredients:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 12 slices of bacon
  • ⅔ cup brown sugar
  • 3 tbs minced garlic

Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 375℉
  • Combine brown sugar and garlic
  • Coat chicken in mixture
  • Wrap each chicken breast in 3 slices of bacon
  • Place in baking dish, and top with any remaining brown sugar mixture
  • Bake for 30 minutes of until cooked through

30. Creamy Chicken in Mushroom Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Can of condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 8 oz. sliced mushrooms
  • ¾ cup white wine (or chicken broth, if preferred)

Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 350℉
  • Brown chicken breasts in olive oil in a skillet, about 6-7 minutes per side
  • Transfer chicken to greased baking dish
  • In the same skillet, saute mushrooms for about 5 minutes
  • Add soup and wine or broth, and stir until combined
  • Pour over chicken
  • Cover dish with foil, and bake for 30 minutes

31. Easy Glazed Honey Balsamic Chicken

Ingredients:

  • 4 lbs chicken thighs
  • ⅓ cup honey
  • 1 tbs balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tsp dried thyme

Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 475℉
  • Place chicken onto baking sheet covered with foil
  • In a small bowl, whisk together honey, balsamic vinegar, and thyme
  • Brush chicken with glaze mixture
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, brushing twice more with glaze throughout

32. Chicken Alfredo Ravioli Bake

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, diced
  • 1 bag frozen cheese ravioli
  • Jar alfredo sauce
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese

Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 350℉
  • Brown diced chicken in skillet until cooked through
  • Boil ravioli according to package directions
  • Combine chicken, ravioli, alfredo sauce, and ½ cup cheese
